I recently bought a HP Victus 16 gaming laptop, but, unlike some friends gaming laptops from other brands, it didn't came with a specific controler/software for fans profiles, turbo modes, battery etc... Is it normal or is it missing something??

Hi @MiguelC2004,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Yes, it's normal. However, HP does provide some tools that you can use for basic controls:

The HP Omen Gaming Hub is an excellent tool for Victus laptops. It allows you to switch between performance modes (Quiet, Balanced, or Performance), monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures, control power settings, and optimize your network for gaming. You can conveniently download this software from the Microsoft Store.

For built-in options in Windows, you can adjust power and battery settings to enhance performance. Navigate to the Settings menu under the "System" and "Power & Battery" sections, where you can set the power mode to "Best Performance" for gaming needs. While HP doesn't provide direct fan control features, you can explore third-party software like HWMonitor to monitor temperatures and fan speeds, or Notebook FanControl, which may offer manual fan adjustment options depending on your laptop's BIOS configuration.

Let me know if you'd like more guidance!

Thanks for the reply 😉 I had already figured it out but thanks 👍🏻

Got another question tho...

Is there a way to cap charging capacity to 80% for example??

HP Recommended

Hi @MiguelC2004,

Yes, you can limit your HP Victus 16's battery charge to 80%, but HP doesn't provide a built-in feature. However, here are a few workarounds:

Use HP Power Manager (If Available)

Open HP Omen Gaming Hub (Download from Microsoft Store if you don’t have it).

Look for Battery Health Manager under Power Settings.

If available, enable Adaptive Battery Optimization or Maximize Battery Health Mode (which may cap the charge).

Use Third-Party Software

Since HP doesn't have built-in battery limiting, you can try:

Battery Limiter (Download Here) – Simple and lightweight.

BatteryBar Pro – Tracks battery health and charge behavior.

ThrottleStop – For advanced users (requires tweaking settings).

I hope this helps.
