Unf***ingbelievable!!! IT WORKS!!! Huffer, you are my hero!! My software that requires OpenGL works, the USB-C monitor works, sleep mode works, and the brightness functions on the laptop work too! It even fixed the battery drain. I'm so happy. This is a great laptop.
I'd LOVE to get the remaining pieces for this notebook working:
- Which one of these drivers is the touch screen? I'm guessing it's the Intel Serial I/O or Intel Virtual Buttons driver, but I don't see any clear place to modify it the same way as the video driver.
- The HP synaptics driver from the above link has some mild issues when loaded on Win 7. Is there an HP model with a comparable touchpad hardware that might have a Win 7 driver? Or another place to look?
- In Device Manager, I still see 2 pieces of unrecognized hardware: Intel_Sensor with ID: {DEA5AE2A-D1FD-438A-A091-CBD484788435}\ISH_BUS and "Unknown Device" on Intel(R) Serial IO I2C Host Controller - 9D60 with ID: ACPI\ELAN2514. I'm guesing one is the touchpad and one is the fingerprint sensor.
- Any other drivers I should focus on finding?
Update: found fantastic Bluetooth driver for streaming, etc: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/USB-BT211/UT_USB_BT211_6_4_5_19.zip

Synaptics touchpad try this one from the Zbook series for Windows 7 64 bit:

The sensors: one is likely to be the 3D Drive Guard accelerometer:

Beyond that I am getting tapped out. I do not know where to tell you to go for the touchscreen. I have always had it just work.

The installer responds "This driver version doesn't suit this touchpad" but it's ok, thank you for looking. I realized the main problem I was having could be fixed with a registry tweak. The only thing I don't have working is 3 finger swipe to view all open apps, but that will likely require a 3rd party program anyway since this functionality isn't native to Windows 7 AFAIK.
The touchscreen is really the only piece not working at this point, which I'm very willing to live with worst case!
