HP Spectre x360 - 13-4102tu

Have connected an external monitor and using "extended mode" by way for F4 key -  both laptop screen and external monitor are on..

I want to have one excel spreadsheet on external monitor (the spreadsheet I am developing) and another excel spreadsheet on the laptop screen (which I want to copy off of)

Is this possible?

Many thanks for any advice.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

The guide link in your answer shows how to go into extended screen mode. I was already there using the f4 button on HP laptop.

I need advice on how to actually operate on two screens.  My cursor seems to stay on one screen only (either the laptop screen or the external monitor. I cannot bring up or manipulate the excel spreadsheet I wish to use on the other screen.

I suspect there is a very obvious answer to this but I have not been able to nut  it out.

Any further advice most appreciated.

Ok. Figured it out. Got the cursor to jump to other monitors.
