After Updating Windows 10 from 1909 to 2004, HP Support Assistant won't let me Check for Software and Driver Updates. Please let me know if this problem has solution already. I badly need to check updates for my Software and Drivers on my HP Laptop.

Try / Consider
Completely Uninstall the HP Support Assistant and, if listed, uninstall the Solutions companion software.
Click to confirm that you want to uninstall any personal data (this is for the HPSA and does not delete YOUR files and folders).
Download and install the HPSA (the companion software, if needed, will reinstall with the HPSA).
Back Story:
HP Support Assistant comes in two different flavors.
The first - and traditional - version of HPSA lives in Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
The second - newer and available on select computers - version of HPSA is an Application and lives in Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
How you uninstall and then reinstall HPSA depends on which "flavor" of HPSA is installed on your computer.
Choose based on which flavor of HPSA is installed on your computer...
HPSA is the traditional software - Find and uninstall from Programs and Features
Reminder:
- Before you start, it is best that your Windows Updates are already current and installed.
- Before you make changes to your computer: Create a Restore Point
Stop / Exit all programs: Browsers, games, Applications, etc.
Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection >
Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point
- FIRST uninstall the HP Support Assistant
Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
Scroll down, find, Uninstall the HP Support Assistant
After the uninstall is completed, Restart the computer and log in
Important: When / If asked whether you want to save any presets / personal HPSA information, respond to have your personal data associated with the program removed along with the HPSA software.
NOTE: If the software will not uninstall, appears to be removed and then shows up again, or is otherwise not “going away” when you tell it to do so, try an Uninstaller program.
Microsoft: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
- Next, Uninstall HP Support Solutions Framework software from Programs and Features
NOTE: HP Support Solutions Framework is a subset of HPSA. For this reason, HPSA must be uninstalled before the Solutions Framework can be removed.
- Restart the computer and log in.
========================================================================
HPSA is the Application in Settings > Apps > Apps and Features - Uninstall from Apps and Features
Settings > Apps > Apps & features >
Scroll down the list, look for HP Support Assistant (and / or HP Support Solutions Framework)
If the application is found in the list, click to uninstall
Restart the computer and log in.

Nothing Works…
If the re-installation of the HPSA / Solution software does not resolve the problem,
Or
if you decide for any reason to not use the HPSA to install the software,
Then
Download and install your HP Software and Drivers manually.

OK.
Not sure what did not work, but we will guess and continue...
Version of HP Support Assistant
If the initial removal of the HPSA did not work,
You are likely running the 9.6.x version of the HP Support Assistant application.
>>> What is the version of the HP Support Assistant?
Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
Scroll down, Left-Click HP Support Assistant > Advanced Options
Version is right near the top of the page...
