Please share the product number of your PC to assist you better.

 

As you mentioned you have issues installing HP support assistant on your PC.

 

Uninstall the HP support assistant from your PC and try creating a new user account and install the latest version of HP support assistant.

 

Refer this article to know more information on how to create a user account on your PC. [edit]

 

In Windows, search for an open Uninstall a program.
On the Programs and Features window, select HP Support Assistant, then click Uninstall.
Click Yes on the Programs and Features screen to confirm you want to uninstall HP Support Assistant.
Restart your computer to complete the process.

 

Update the latest version of HP support assistant using this link.

Did you make any software or hardware changes to the PC?

 

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

 

To resolve this issue, update HPSA (HP Support Assistant) to the latest version.


Open HP Support Assistant.
Select About.
Select Check for latest version.
Follow the on-screen instructions to update HPSA.
Confirm the Framework version is newer than version 12.5.32.203.
Restart the computer.
Open Task Manager.
Check the Processes or Performance tab.
Confirm the HP Support Solution Framework service is not utilizing all CPU resources.
Close Task Manager.

 

Also, if you have issues after trying out the steps. Please try the steps recommended below.

 

Uninstall the HP support assistant from your PC and try creating a new user account and install the latest version of HP support assistant.

In Windows, search for an open Uninstall a program.
On the Programs and Features window, select HP Support Assistant, then click Uninstall.

I have tried everything you said and what is said in the article without luck. I am trying to figure out if it is a configuration file or other remnant file. Any ideas?

Uninstall the HP support assistant from programs and files under control panel.

 

Install the HP support assistant using the recovery manager.

Lastly, if nothing works try performing a push button reset on your PC.
