OMEN by HP 15-ax250wm Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I decided to reset my laptop and I chose the clean the drive option. I have done this before other times over the years and I never had this issue until now. I have ran Windows/Microsoft updates through Windows Update and that did not fix the issue. For some reason, the HP Support Assistant is having issues. When I open it, this comes up:

And when I go into it anyway, things inside the program do not seem to work correctly. For example when doing a operating system test/check, it cannot do it and does not work with some sort of error. Other things within HP Support Assistant do not seem to work either. And when I try downloading and installing the latest version of HP Support Assistant, this comes up:

And I do not know where to download a legacy version. I do not see anything that pertains to that when I click "Go to download."

Make sure you have logged in an administrators account.

Right click on the windows icon and select system and then look at edition.

Make sure you are running window pro 64 bit and not windows "S" or the 32 bit  version.

Bring up the windows store using WSRESET in the windows search bar.

downoad https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9pkvzcprx9nv?amp%3Bgl=US

and verify you are licensed for windows 10 pro 64 bit.

If the problem continues then your profile is corrupted.  Create a new user give that user admin rights.  Log out of your account and log into the new user account and see if the HP support assistant starts working.

Question: When you reset your PC did you use the HP cloud recovery to do the factory restore?

Cloud recovery provides all the custom HP drivers.
Go to the below site and enter your product ID including the 3 characters after the # character
If you have cloud recovery you can restore your system using a 32gb flash.
It may take an hour or more to create the recovery USB.

Alternately, download from the MS windows store

You know what, this time around when I reset my pc, I logged out of my Microsoft/Windows account and I am using just a local account. Could that have something to do with it?

You need admin rights to run that program. Possibly when the program was installed it was not installed for all users just one specific user. The program would run if the local account is not admin,  but it would complain and not fully function.
