HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 65W Dock
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently purchased an HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 65W Dock that is connected to my Razer Blade laptop. I have Ethernet, a keyboard and a mouse plugged into it. Unfortunately, the dock experiences lag, meaning input from keyboard and mouse tends to stop for a minute, or keyboard presses get repeated as such : rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have perform the ASMedia update, and tried to use the Software update for the dock unfortunately it consistently fails in the last two updates it has to perform.

I have contacted Razer who asked some questions and said it was most likely an HP driver issue.

Thank you.

I have the same problems using this dock on my Lenovo laptop.  I also have the same issues when trying to update the firmware.  The firmware update software for the dock itself

Intel Thunderbolt 3 Firmware for HP Thunderbolt 3 Dock, version 18.0.3.0.1/18.0.4.1.7

apparently checks to see what HP computer you have and updates the firmware with the 18.0.3.0.1 or 18.0.4.1.7 as appropriate.  However, since we aren't updating from a recognized HP computer, the software crashes before the update takes place.

Another user claims to have patched the firmware update code so it does not make this check, but I don't know how he did it.

I'm trying to find a friend with an HP laptop or a an HP dealer that can run the update for me.

For some reason the admins kill these posts about running the firmware software from a non-HP laptop.

Here are the system requirements for running the firmware update software.  Line 2 says it all:

- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 must be installed and running with Administrator or equivalent access.
- The system must be a USB-C capable HP Commercial notebook or tablet compatible with an HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station.
- The system must be docked to an HP Elite Thunderbolt 3 Docking Station running on A/C power.
- A DisplayPort Display must be attached and running.
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 must be installed.

I can report that I was able to install the latest firmware update for the HP Thunderbolt 3 Dock 65W using my Lenovo laptop.  Firmware version

driver I'm up and running.  So far no mouse studder on the USB ports and the Lenovo recognizes the dock after going to sleep.
