Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d0000 (2V8V2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Victus 16 (Almost a month old) drains too fast. I am just using this for light/ minimal tasks (browsing, ms word, spotify, etc) and my battery only lasts for about an hour and a half! I dont know what to do, it was advertised that this could last for about 4-8hrs for minimal use. Any tips? Should I return this at the store?  I am slowly regretting that I bought this. Hope you can help me with this.

Hi @nyccxx,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a battery issue with your Victus By HP 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-D0000 (2V8V2AV). Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

I suggest you perform the troubleshooting steps from this document HP Notebook PCs - Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows)

Also, try updating the computer:

Step 1 Windows Updates:

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2  Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the pending updates

This document has the most relevant troubleshooting if your battery appears to be not charging: Battery Does not Power Notebook or Hold a Charge

If the issue persists, Let's Run a battery test using F2 (during restart), if the test failed then it could be a hardware issue: HP Notebook PCs - Using and Testing the AC Power Adapter

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
