Microsoft Windows 11

This laptop gives me alot of startup errors, mostly hypervisor and nstokol.exe errors, constantly has to restart.

I updated the bios and nothing was fixed, contacted support and the indian guy told me because I changed the hd he can't help me. This computer is a buggy mess from HP and should have never been made.

Please advise, this computer needs serious work.

@william34, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Victus laptop

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're encountering startup errors related to "hypervisor" and "nstokol.exe," here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Troubleshooting Steps

Safe Mode: Start your computer in Safe Mode. This can help isolate whether the issue is caused by a software conflict. To enter Safe Mode, restart your computer and continuously press F8 until the boot menu appears, then select "Safe Mode."

Check Startup Programs: Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to identify and disable unnecessary startup programs. Click on the "Startup" tab and disable any suspicious entries.

Scan for Malware: Run a full system scan using a trusted antivirus program. Certain malware can cause startup issues and may masquerade as legitimate executables like "nstokol.exe."

Update Drivers: Ensure all drivers, especially for the motherboard, graphics card, and other critical components, are up to date. Visit the HP Support website for driver updates specific to your model.

Perform System Restore: If the issue started recently, you might try performing a system restore to a point when the laptop was functioning properly. Type "system restore" in the Windows search bar to access this feature.

Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is completely up-to-date, which can resolve compatibility issues.

Review BIOS Configuration: Although you've updated the BIOS, ensure there's no misconfiguration. Sometimes specific settings like enabling/disabling certain boot options can affect startup behaviors.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello,

Thanks for the assistance but nothing that you stated has worked, still have the hypervisor and kernel issues. It's just a faulty system but the warranty has expired.

I heard it's the AMD chipset that's just faulty. Either that or the HP OMEN software.
