Please help me! I opened my Camera app on my Victus gaming laptop and I got the error code 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>. I looked into my device manager and I saw that my HP Wide Vision HD Camera driver(and my Camera drivers altogether) were gone. I tried to install that driver from here, but my laptop is at the current Windows 11 version 25H2, and that isn't supported! Please help me get my camera working again! 😞

Hi @abebenek,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus laptop is showing error 0xA00F4244 (NoCamerasAreAttached) and the HP Wide Vision HD Camera driver is missing, so the camera won’t work. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and how to fix it.

Check Windows Camera privacy settings
Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
Make sure Camera access for this device and Let apps access your camera are ON.

Show hidden devices in Device Manager
Open Device Manager, click View → Show hidden devices.
Look for Cameras or Imaging Devices — if the camera appears, right-click and choose Enable device.

Scan for hardware changes
In Device Manager, go to Action → Scan for hardware changes.
This can rediscover the built-in camera if Windows lost track of it.

Install or update drivers via Windows Update
Go to Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates → Driver updates.
Install any available camera or imaging drivers – this often finds generic or manufacturer drivers.

Try the generic USB video driver
If the camera shows under Device Manager but has a problem:
Right-click it → Update driver → Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list → choose USB Video Device.
This installs the generic Microsoft camera driver when OEM drivers are missing.

Reset the Camera app (optional)
Go to Settings → Apps → Camera → Advanced options → Reset.
This restores the Camera app to default settings, which can help it detect the hardware.

Check BIOS camera settings
Restart the laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
Look for Integrated Camera or similar and ensure it’s Enabled (some laptops allow toggling the webcam in BIOS).

Confirm there is physical camera hardware
Look at the top center of your screen for the camera lens — if it’s not there, your model may not have one installed.

I hope this helps.
