HP Wide Vision HD Camera not zooming

HP Recommended
Example: Pavilion 15-cc5xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My camera  is using Microsoft camera app by default. The problem is that this app doesn't have the zoom feature.

I want to be able to zoom, I read something about mediasoft but my laptop doesn't have it.

Should i install mediasoft? I never used it before but I am working from home now and need to use the laptop camera. How can I zoom with my camera?

Thanks in advance.

@2020One Welcome to HP Community!

As I understand the webcam is zoomed in all the way,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you

The webcam works, but the image is too dark or the video is choppy.

If the image is too dark, take the following actions:

  • Make sure your video recording environment has good lighting.

  • Change the image quality, brightness, contrast, and other adjustments in the webcam software.

To resolve problems with choppy playback, take the following actions:

  • Reduce the size of the video image in the webcam software.

  • Use a high-speed Internet connection.

  • Do not use other high-speed USB devices while using the webcam.

To troubleshoot other video quality problems, refer to one of the following HP support documents:

(by the end of this document, all the issues should be resolved)

It doesn't zoom in or zoom out. It gives too much background. I looked up everywhere, and It just doesn't have this feature. Not when using windows 10 default app.

I was wondering if HP provides a free software to provide better control for the camera.

@v2020One

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
