I followed the instructions and installed sp81142 and I get the same error. I'm ready to use CCleaner to just disable to accelerometer feature. I've installed and uninstalled two versions of driveguard 8003 and 81142 based on internet searches. So far and I've gotten the same incompatible error code with Windows 10. Is there a fix? A solution? Other than disabling the Accelerometer.

Strike three, it's uninstalled. The pack recommended for my model and serial pulled the same incompatible with Windows thing. As it's only a guard for drops and the cooling monitor still operates I'll live without it for now, perhaps forever. Rather disappointed with HP's inability to stay on top of things.
Has anyone checked out the price for a physical copy of the restore media for your laptop? You want a good laugh, check it out. I've paid less for day one game releases.
I appreciate the help and suggestions given but I guess the 'some computers' they've cobbled together a fix for doesn't include my blue baby. Ah well.

Well, I don't drop my laptop at all so the modest protection the program might give (and I wonder why a moderator felt the need to edit my post) I had thought the Cool Sense which is a feature I like and although the documentation says it requires the Accelerometer feature the Accelerometer is not being allowed to run by Windows but the CoolSense (ver. 2.2) software IS showing in the icon tray as on. Since no one has a solution I have will just stop the Accelerometer from starting with the PC and hope that doesn't interefere with CoolSense after a reboot. Hopefully someone can come up with a viable solution for my HP Pavilion - 15t-au100 CTO. Would like all the features to work but I can live without this if no solution can be offered.

Hello @kblodg66
Did you post the serial number? That would be why a Mod altered your post.
It would help us if you mention the product number though.
The Accelerometer error is affecting several users at the moment.
The fixes have been hit and mis for everyone.
You "might" have success using update sp82228.exe
If it doesnt work, go to the SW folder and run the exe from there again... example
If that does not work, we will have to wait for a fix.
It certainly wont hurt to uninstall it and not use it at the moment. I agree its a modest attempt to save a hard drive from a sudden drop and I equate it to using a band aid when stitches are required. Cool Sense is a separate install and is also optional if you wish to use it or not.
Hope it helps.
