I recently got an HP USB-C dock G5. It connects just fine with one laptop (an HP laptop). However, on the other laptop (an acer aspire A515-51), the USB ports in the dock work fine (the keyboard and mouse are connected by USB through the dock). However, the monitor (an HP EliteDisplay E242), will not connect through the dock. It connects just fine if the cable is connected to the laptop itself. When connected to the dock it says that no input signal is found. Is there any fix to this? With the laptop being close to 5 years old, and not an HP, I figured there might not be a solution and the products are just incompatible, but figured it can't hurt to ask.

Not all USB-C ports are the same. Your Acer machine is NOT on the compatible list with HP USB-C G5 dock. Many HP machines are NOT compatible with HP USB-C G5 dock too.

Regards.
