Hope i can get an answer. This appeared on latest update HP Extension 1.66.3710.0. What is it. If it is a BIOS update, I will pass. The last time I did that it I lost my computer and had to get a new one. Also seeing these optional upates; HP Firmware 15.33.00 and System 1.66.3710.0
Any help is appreciated. Thankyou

Hi @AdamDaniel1
No is for BIOS, it is a software driver to enable some HP services,

Thank you for your response. Again a little nervous to download as the last time a BIOS update was done it burned out my motherboard. There were these other updates that I wasn't sure about, any ideas? HP Firmware 15.33..0.0 and System 1.66.3710.0
Thank you

Yes, The firmware is the BIOS, I recommend you to update directly from the support page of the device model and then you can update that firmware, it will only change the firmware version but it will not update.

Can we get detailed notes on what this does? My laptop has basically lost its value after this was installed and I've been chasing down the changes to some success. Where is the documentation for this update? Please revert this update as we are unable to revert to a previous version without resetting the whole machine.

What HP services is it enabling?
Could we please get a change log?
I'm getting tired of having things pushed to me without knowing what they are.
What are the risks?
What are the impacts?
Are you installing bloatware?
What is it already?

It depends on each computer how it is configured, if you have a special keyboard activate special key services, activate Hp Support Assistant services, activate HP Diagnostic services etc. etc. ....
HP Applicatrion Enabling Services,
If you want and use these applications you should upgrade because it fixes problems.

I think this might be the equivalent of the Takata airbag disaster from a few years ago.

I literally had TWO hp machines (a personal one, and a work one) go out on this one BIOS update. They both became useless, and something (mainly what Intel is saying) tells me that this BIOS was attempting to fix it.

My computer is bugging out after this update. Pages don't load properly on Chrome, applications quit or lag severely, gaming is choppy... And I got a message that some HP thing wasn't running properly, so I hate to "start" whatever it was, and now I can't figure out what to do about this but I am furious.
