Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I see that your experiencing password issue with HP laptop. Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
- Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?
- Have you performed Windows update on your PC?
- When was the last time it worked fine?
- when you're getting this message? (password is forgotten)
- Have you previously created local password reset disk or USB drive?
While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
If you've not created password reset disk or USB drive.
Follow the below steps:
-
On the sign-in screen, press and hold the Shift key, click the power icon, select Restart, and continue pressing the Shift key until the Choose an option screen displays.
-
Click Troubleshoot.
-
Click Reset this PC, and then click Remove everything.
-
Click Only the drive where Windows is installed.
-
Click Just remove my files, and then click Reset.
Windows reinstalls the operating system. When complete the Windows welcome screen displays.
