I've had this computer for about 8 months and mainly used it for college stuff, but also for gaming from time to time. I played old games because this computer really isn't great for gaming. Lately i've noticed that my computers performance while gaming has gone down, games that used to run smoothly now stutter and it's pretty annoying.
I've also noticed that he gets hotter a lot quikcer, even when i'm just doing light tasks, like using word or watching netflix, my computer instantly starts blowing very loudly and gets a bit hot. When he was new he never got hot while doing such easy task and i would never hear the fans. Now i can clearly hear the fans running all the time.
I just feel like my computer's performance has gone down overall and i'm wondering what caused it and what i can do to fix it. I just deleted some file to get some free storage space, but that didn't seem to help, it's also worth mentioning that he sometimes got really hot while gaming so that might've caused some damage, but i hope not.

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with the computer's performance. I will be delighted to assist you here.
I have a few steps to identify and resolve the issue:
Common causes of slow system performance:
-
Not enough free disk space or disk errors.
-
Applications that require a lot of system resources.
-
Too many tasks running at the same time.
-
Nonessential graphic features.
-
Not enough memory.
-
Overheating due to intensive graphic applications or dust in vents.
-
Running multiple instances of anti-virus software.

The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
