HP smart displays error "invalid username or password". Although I changed my credentials and even made a new account the same issue remains.

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

 

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Smart gets error when login.

 

Are you able to print using the app?

 

Try the steps below:

 

1) Restart your phone and the printer and then check if the issue occurs, try a browser to login to HP Smart web         account

2)Uninstall the app and restart your phone

3) Install the app and try again

 

I have a few recommendations 

  • The firmware must be updated first if an older version is installed, else the reset will not be made..
  • You will need to follow the instructions below to reset printer:

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Press and hold down the Color Copy and the Resume buttons.
  • Hold the buttons when you turn on the printer.
  • When the all light turns on, release the Color Copy and the Resume buttons.
  • NOTE: It takes about 60 seconds before initialization process begins.
  • The initialization starts.
  • When the initialization completes, the printer enters the generic printer mode.
