HP Envy TS 15 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I find myself with the following problem:

I did a windows (10) factory reset of my HP Envy TS 15 Notebook PC and I basically lost all related HP software and (I think) also drivers from particular specs of my PC hardware.

For example, the fingerprint recognition in order to unlock the PC software and even the light on the hardware are absolutely gone, no uninstalled software on the PC that I could just install to make it work either.

If I am not mistaken, my pc also has a feature that the audio is somewhat enhanced with hardware from "beatsaudio" as it is written above the monitor. The point is, I noticed a big audio quality drop after the factory reset, and I think it might just be that windows is not automatically using the "best" stuff, insted, it is only detecting the base audio devices.

Another example is that I remember having an automatic dynamic control of the PC ventilation system for better performance according to how much of the PC was in use. That stuff is gone too, now the PC ventilation runs at full power all the time, when before it used to regulate itself according to how much I was pushing the PC.

Those are the examples I can come up from the top of my head, the base problem I think is that any HP software and hardware driver that was supposed to be by default is gone after the factory reset windows did (I kept all my personal data, like photos and videos, if that's of any use)

Is there any solution to this?  Before this kind of stuff used to come on a disk along the PC but this time it wasn't the case, the PC came only with the strictly necessary stuff and I find myself lost on how to get that stuff back for a better performance.

Thank you in advance

You obviously didn't do an HP Factory reset -but instead a Windows reset/refresh.  An HP Recovery to Factory would have reinstalled all of your drivers/software that were originally on the laptop.

Option one -backup your photos/files to external media and do an HP System Recovery:

http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=HPSystemRecovery.net&as=true&SFS=sdoc&section=ccweb&language...

Option two- go to your Support page and download all of the things available that you need..

Get your full Model number or Product number from the Service Tag attached to bottom of laptop (may be under battery)> How To Find Model/Product Number

Once you have the info, use the button at top of this page titled "Support", then click "Software and Drivers" from the menu. On the next page enter your Model Number. After entering  click 'Find my product' button. On the next page be sure correct OS is selected-if not click Change to edit .A list will populate with drivers/software.

Hello again!

Thank you very much for your answer, I backed up my files to an external drive and did the HP Factory reset as you suggested at it worked like a charm, now all the HP software and drivers I had before are back!

Sadly, I find myself  yet in another conundrum. I did an HP Factory reset, but now Windows 8 is running instead of Windows 10 (I expected such thing to happen), I was wondering if you knew if it would upgrade automatically or if am I now stuck with windows 8.

Again, thank you in advance

Once all of your drivers/software are updated you should receive the Windows 10 upgrade again. I restored a laptop to Windows 8.1 a few months ago and Windows 10 upgrade was offered pretty soon after.

You might want run HP Support Assistant to get all updates done quicker.

Or-you can do the upgrade from here:
