Hi @erwsa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with HP Support Assistant not launching or functioning properly, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem. Here are some suggestions.

Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software glitches and temporary issues.

Update HP Support Assistant: Make sure you have the latest version of HP Support Assistant installed. Visit the official HP website and download the latest version if necessary.

Check System Requirements: Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for HP Support Assistant. Outdated hardware or operating systems might cause compatibility issues.

Run as Administrator: Right-click on the HP Support Assistant shortcut or executable file and select "Run as administrator." This can help bypass certain permissions-related issues.

Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Sometimes, security software can block certain programs from functioning correctly. Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall software and see if HP Support Assistant launches properly.

Clear Cache: HP Support Assistant might have a cached configuration causing issues. Clear the cache by going to the HP Support Assistant settings and selecting the option to clear cache.

Reinstall HP Support Assistant:

  • Uninstall HP Support Assistant from your computer.
  • Download the latest version from the official HP website.
  • Install the new version and see if it resolves the issue.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues with certain software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
