Could not open HP support assistant.  I uninstall HPSA in control panel.  I downloaded new version and tried to install.  Install started, cleaned up old files but when it was "completing the installation kept running over, and over again.   Error 1602,  Installation failed.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Here’s how you can troubleshoot HP Support Assistant (HPSA) installation failure - Error 1602 on your HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 running Windows 11:

Perform a Clean Uninstallation of HPSA

  1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
  2. If HP Support Assistant is still listed, uninstall it.
  3. Open File Explorer and navigate to:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\
  4. Delete any HP Support Assistant folders.
  5. Press Win + R, type %temp%, and delete all temporary files.
  6. Restart the laptop.

Run HP Support Assistant Uninstaller (HP Uninstaller Tool)

  1. Download the HP Support Assistant Uninstaller from the HP website.
  2. Run the tool to remove any leftover files.
  3. Restart the system.

Disable Antivirus & Run Installer as Administrator

  1. Temporarily disable antivirus/firewall software (if any).
  2. Right-click the HPSA installer and select Run as administrator.
  3. If prompted, allow the installation to proceed.

Check Windows Services & Install HP Framework First

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Find Windows Installer, right-click, and select Restart.
  3. Download and install HP Support Solutions Framework before HPSA.
  4. After that, try installing HP Support Assistant again.

This not work.I did not find the HP support assistant uninstaller at HP web site.  nor did I find it on my pc.

I only deleted the temp files that had .tmp.  I folloother info that you sent ,    I download and installed  HP support solution framework first and the tried to install HP support assistant but it did not complete.  The green line filled and sztarted over again for  several times.   I got the same error message as before 1602.  I was installing as adm.  I installed to:

C: SWsetup\sp155262.  The 2nd solution that you sent did not work   either/

Oh Whoa is me!! ☹️
