Every time when I try to logon to my HP laptop (HP Envy x360 Convertible 15-euoxxx), I got a pop-up message like this:
Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? HPReadHW Driver Uninstaller. I have tried to say yes and no but it makes no difference as it keeps popping up.
1) What is this program?
2) Why is it so sticky?
3) If I have inadvertently tried to uninstall this driver, can it be re-installed properly to eliminate this message?
Thanks

Hi @Chinplant,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering an issue with a driver uninstaller program on your HP laptop. Here's some information that might help.
HPReadHW Driver Uninstaller: This program is likely a utility provided by HP to uninstall hardware drivers from your laptop. It's used to remove drivers for specific hardware components.
Why it's persistent: The persistence of the pop-up could be due to a few reasons:
- The uninstaller might be set to run automatically during startup, triggering the UAC (User Account Control) prompt each time.
- There could be a corruption in the uninstaller program itself, causing it to repeatedly prompt for permission.
- It might be a sign of a deeper issue with the driver or system configuration.
Reinstalling the driver: If you accidentally uninstalled a necessary driver using this utility, you can usually reinstall it to resolve any related issues. You can visit the HP support website for your specific laptop model and download the appropriate drivers from there. Look for the drivers related to your laptop's model number and the specific hardware component that needs the driver. Once downloaded, you can install the driver, and it should replace any missing or corrupted files, resolving the pop-up issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
