Hi @muke2003,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A hard beep error on your HP Envy X2 notebook typically indicates a hardware issue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  1. Power off your notebook completely by holding down the power button for a few seconds.
  2. Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if it's removable).
  3. Wait for about 30 seconds and then reinsert the battery (if removable) and plug in the power adapter.
  4. Power on your notebook and check if the hard beep error still persists. If it does, proceed to the next step.
  5. Check the RAM (Random Access Memory) modules. Sometimes, improper installation or faulty RAM can cause beep errors. Try reseating the RAM modules by removing them and then reinstalling them securely.
  6. If you have multiple RAM modules, try removing one at a time and see if the error persists. This can help identify if a specific RAM module is causing the issue.
  7. Check for any loose connections inside your notebook, such as cables or connectors. Ensure that everything is properly connected and secured.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
