Hi @muke2003,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A hard beep error on your HP Envy X2 notebook typically indicates a hardware issue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- Power off your notebook completely by holding down the power button for a few seconds.
- Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if it's removable).
- Wait for about 30 seconds and then reinsert the battery (if removable) and plug in the power adapter.
- Power on your notebook and check if the hard beep error still persists. If it does, proceed to the next step.
- Check the RAM (Random Access Memory) modules. Sometimes, improper installation or faulty RAM can cause beep errors. Try reseating the RAM modules by removing them and then reinstalling them securely.
- If you have multiple RAM modules, try removing one at a time and see if the error persists. This can help identify if a specific RAM module is causing the issue.
- Check for any loose connections inside your notebook, such as cables or connectors. Ensure that everything is properly connected and secured.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
