Hi @Elisheba

It sounds like your HP laptop is facing a hard disk issue, indicated by the Hard Disk 1 (3F1) error. This error often suggests that the laptop's hard drive might be failing or there could be a problem with the disk connection. Follow these steps to diagnose and possibly resolve the issue:

  1. Enter System Diagnostics:

    • Restart your laptop.
    • Immediately press the F2 key repeatedly when the HP logo appears.
    • This should take you into the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI tool.
  2. Run Hard Disk Test:

    • In the UEFI Tool, navigate to "Component Tests."
    • Select "Hard Drive" or "Hard Disk" from the list of tests.
    • Choose to perform a Quick Test followed by an Extensive Test for a more comprehensive analysis.
  3. Review Test Results:

    • Pass: If the tests pass but the error persists, the issue might be with the operating system or a temporary glitch.
    • Fail: If the tests fail, it indicates a probable hard drive failure.
  4. Backup Data:

    • If possible, back up any essential data immediately to avoid data loss. You may need to connect the hard drive to another computer if the laptop doesn't boot.
  5. Consideration for Replacement:

    • If the test fails, consider replacing the hard drive. In this case, you'll need a compatible replacement drive and may need to reinstall the operating system using recovery media.
