Hi @TypeM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15.6" displays a "Hardware Diagnostics not up to date" message every time you turn it on, here's how you can resolve it.

Update HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

  • Download the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI from the official HP Support website:
    1. Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads.
    2. Enter your laptop model (e.g., Victus by HP 15) and select your operating system.
    3. Look for "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics" under Software - Tools or a similar section.
  • Install the update by following the on-screen instructions.

Update BIOS

  • Check if your BIOS is up to date:
    1. Open HP Support Assistant (if installed).
    2. Navigate to Updates and check for a BIOS update.
    3. If an update is available, install it.
  • Alternatively, download the latest BIOS update from the HP Support website and install it manually.

Clear Temporary Diagnostics Files

  • Restart your laptop and access the UEFI Diagnostics Menu by pressing the F2 key repeatedly during startup.
  • Run a basic diagnostic test (e.g., Quick Test or System Test).
  • After the test, exit and restart your laptop to see if the message disappears.

Check for Software Conflicts

  • Ensure that the HP Support Assistant and other system utilities are up to date. Outdated software might cause errors.
  • Open the HP Support Assistant, go to the My Devices section, and click Updates to install the latest updates for your laptop.

Reset HP Hardware Diagnostics Settings

  • Restart your laptop, access the BIOS menu (press F10 during startup).
  • Look for an option related to Diagnostics or UEFI settings and reset to default (if available).

Disable Startup Diagnostics Reminder (Optional)

  • If you prefer not to see the reminder message:
    1. Open the HP Support Assistant.
    2. Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
    3. Disable the notification for hardware diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I think its disgusting to expect an ordinary user to follow all this simply because by diagnosing the health of my 17 Envy, it tells me that I should get the latest version and update my 10.3.2.0 version. Why not provide a link that takes me straight to the download page and then tells me what the latest version is so that I can see what to download and then it should all be doing the rest automatically. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HP DIAGNOSTICS.
