Hi @Stanleycy

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot—this makes it crystal clear. The HP icon in your Windows 11 task tray is likely part of HP Support Assistant or HP QuickDrop, both of which run background services and place icons in the system tray.

Here’s how to remove it:

Option 1: Disable from Startup (Recommended)

This stops the icon from loading without uninstalling the app.

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
  2. Go to the Startup tab
  3. Look for entries like:
    • HP Support Assistant
    • HP QuickDrop
    • HP Hotkey Support
  4. Right-click and choose Disable
  5. Restart your computer

The icon should no longer appear in the task tray.

Option 2: Uninstall the HP App (If You Don’t Use It)

If you don’t need the app at all:

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings
  2. Go to Apps > Installed Apps
  3. Search for:
    • HP Support Assistant
    • HP QuickDrop
  4. Click the three dots > Uninstall

Option 3: Hide the Icon (If You Want It Running but Not Visible)

  1. Right-click the taskbar and choose Taskbar settings
  2. Scroll to Other system tray icons
  3. Find the HP app and toggle it Off

This keeps the app running but hides the icon.

Let me know which HP app it is (Support Assistant, QuickDrop, etc.) and I can guide you more precisely. You're clearly detail-oriented, and this will be a quick cleanup.
