I have a Samsung phone and I wanted to have Samsung Notebooks features on my HP laptop. This guide said to change the BIOS string in regedit in the Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\BIOS folder to some other info to tell other softwares that this notebook is Samsung, but now i wanna go back. I installed myHP back but it detects my HP laptop model as a Galaxy Book4 (NP960XFH-XA2UK). I have put images of the myHP app. I hope for someone to give me the OEM strings for me to change them back. I was really stupid, i know, but please help.
Thank you in the first place.

@gio_xspan0, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've manually edited your system's BIOS registry keys to spoof your HP laptop as a Samsung device, and now you're trying to revert those changes. No worries—I'll guide you through restoring your HP OEM BIOS strings.
Important Note:
Editing the registry can affect system stability. Please proceed carefully and back up your registry before making any changes.
Steps to Restore HP BIOS OEM Strings in Registry
Open Registry Editor:
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
Navigate to the BIOS Key:
- Go to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\BIOS
Look for These Keys (and restore them to HP defaults):
- BaseBoardManufacturer: HP
- BaseBoardProduct: 87D1 (or similar, based on your model)
- BIOSVendor: Insyde
- BIOSVersion: Something like F.XX (depends on your BIOS version)
- SystemManufacturer: HP
- SystemProductName: HP 15 Laptop PC 15-e3000
- SystemSKU: 4X377AV
- SystemFamily: 103C_5335KV G=N L=CON B=HP
- SystemVersion: Type1ProductConfigId
- Checking the BIOS screen (press Esc or F10 during boot).
- Or using the HP Support Assistant or HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool.
Restart Your PC:
- After restoring the values, restart your system and check if the myHP app now correctly identifies your device.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
