Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

My workstation was stolen and I was able to access the last location with my Microsoft account.

I saw that the last location available was last week (I week later it was stolen) and it´s near my city, the battery is 88%, and when I used it last time it was very likely to be 90-100%.

I read several websites but I´m still trying to find out if the Windows location is only available when the device is turned on and has a wifi connection, or how it sends a register to the cloud.

Is it possible that the thief had turned on my computer but wasn´t able to guess my password? If that happens maybe was the computer connected to a network that I already have used before? Or can Windows connect to any network that is unknown to the device?

Thanks!
