Hi @omansor,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
That sounds really frustrating—having your page reload unexpectedly can make browsing difficult. Let’s work together to see if we can find the cause and get it resolved.
Here are a few questions that might help narrow down the issue:
- Do you notice if this happens more in one specific browser, or does it occur across different browsers?
- Has your browser or operating system recently updated? Sometimes updates change default settings.
- Is your laptop connected to any external devices (e.g., keyboard or mouse) that might influence behavior?
Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:
1. Clear Browser Cache and Disable Extensions
- Go to your browser’s settings, clear the cache and cookies, and disable extensions, especially any related to mouse or navigation controls.
- Restart the browser and monitor if the issue persists. Extensions can sometimes trigger unintended behavior.
2. Check Keyboard and Touchpad Settings
- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad (or Mouse & touchpad in older versions) and check for any gestures that might trigger reloading or page navigation.
- Make sure there’s no "three-finger tap" or similar gesture that might be causing this.
3. Disable Automatic Page Refresh (if Available)
- Some browsers, like Chrome, allow you to manage or disable Automatic Tab Discarding. This feature reloads pages to save memory.
- Type chrome://flags in Chrome’s address bar, search for Automatic Tab Discarding, and disable it. This can prevent the page from refreshing automatically.
4. Check for Windows Update or HP Driver Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and ensure that you have the latest updates installed.
- Use HP Support Assistant to check for and install any BIOS or driver updates for your HP Spectre x360, especially related to touchpad, keyboard, or display drivers.
5. Run Windows Hardware Troubleshooters
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters and run the Keyboard and Hardware and Devices troubleshooters.
- This can help identify and fix any hardware or driver issues that could be influencing your touchpad or keyboard behavior.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
