HP ENVY Inspire 7220e All-in-One Printer

Can someone help me bypass the "use set up cartridges" error? Please

I ordered an Envy Inspire on Amazon last week. It came and I set it up and it did NOT include any ink (first irritation). They make you sign up for their ink program in order to receive the free ink in the offer. 2nd irritation but ok.

I could not wait for their shipment so I went and bought the ink and installed it (which I will admit my lack of tech savvy added to my frustration) BUT THEN I get an error that says  "use setup cartridges that came with your printer"

So after trying to find out a solution for more than two hours I get a person on the phone and, I swear to God, I wasn't even rude to him, I WAS frustrated because its now been a week and I STILL can't print. And he threatened to hang up on me! I promise on my moms life I wasn't even rude...

I honestly want to cry because I have documents I am trying to print for a trip and it WHY I BOUGHT A NEW PRINTER

Hi @kitsapelph,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are getting an error message "Use Setup Cartridges" on your HP ENVY Inspire 7220e All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Let me know if this helps.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
