HP Recommended

I just bought a HP OMEN laptop – 24GB memory, Intel Ultra 7, 1TB SSD, 16” display, 2560 x 1600 res. Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics (240 Hz refresh rate).

Although I knew it was a “gaming laptop” , it was not my intention to use it for games at all.  I bought it on the recommendation of the HP Chat attendant who could not find any other non-gaming laptops with a higher display resolution.

With that said, I am experiencing frequent annoying notifications from HP OMEN in respect of the OMEN GAMING HUB.  I have opened this app once only, and have since never bothered to get near it.  But I am getting “in your face” notices just like un-wanted ads.

Question/Request for Help

1) Is there a way to remove the “gaming aspects” of the software that was bundled with this HP OMEN?

2) Will removing the OMEN GAMING HUB app have side effects to Windows 11 operational stability and integrity?

Would be highly grateful for any tips or guidance – I use this laptop for work, and the gaming aspects are interrupting my screens too much.

Thanking you in advance for your attention.

Hi @RTX,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To disable or remove the HP OMEN Gaming Hub from your HP OMEN laptop, you can follow the steps below. This app is typically pre-installed on gaming laptops to enhance the gaming experience, but if you do not intend to use it for gaming, you can choose to disable or uninstall it:

Uninstalling HP OMEN Gaming Hub

Open Windows Settings:

  • Click on the Start button and then select Settings (the gear icon).

Navigate to Apps:

  • In the Settings window, click on Apps.

Find the App:

  • In the Apps & features section, scroll through the list or use the search bar to find OMEN Gaming Hub.

Uninstall the App:

  • Click on OMEN Gaming Hub and then click on the Uninstall button.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation process.

Disabling Notifications

If you prefer to keep the app but want to disable notifications:

Open Windows Settings:

  • Click on the Start button and then select Settings (the gear icon).

Go to Notifications & actions:

  • Click on System and then select Notifications & actions from the left menu.

Manage Notifications:

  • Scroll down to find OMEN Gaming Hub, and toggle off the notifications for it.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
