Hi all,
I want to map "home/end" to "fn+Left/Right", and "pgUp/pgDn" to "fn+Up/Down", but can't catch scan-code from them.
Seems that fn+arrows return arrows codes without modification.
Tried to get scan-code with:
-SharpKeys,
- autohotkey,
- MapKeyboard,
- KeyCode,
- KeyTest.
No scan-code captured, but some other fn combinations generated some 2-byte (?) scancodes.
Earlier I had ASUS RoG G701JW notebook, and wanted to do the same, and only way to do it was some custom software that work with ATK keyboard driver, soft called AsusNBKeys. No other way found to do it, and no scancode captured by other applications. Right like with HP now.
Is there a way to catch fn+arrows, and bind it to other keystrokes?

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to remap the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I would like to inform you that remapping arrow keys is not possible as these are dedicated keys. However, I recommend you download the Microsoft mouse and keyboard center from the below link and install it.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55483
Once the software is installed you can try remapping the keys.
Note: The options listed in this wizard vary depending on the key selected. For example, since you cannot reassign the Windows key, the only option available is to disable it.
To reassign a key
- Using the keyboard that you want to configure, start Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center.
- From the displayed list of key names, select the key you want to reassign.
- In the command list of the key that you want to reassign, select a command.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thank you very much for reply.
Arrow keys - can be easily remapped, it's not a problem at all, on press they return scancodes E050, E04B, E048 and E04D (and other codes on release, but it's not important), so remapping arrows can be done even by editing registry.
But I want to remap arrows combinations with FN button. And problem is that all these combinations seems to return no scancode at all. If I can capture a scancode - I can remap everything, but here seems to be no code at all, and it is very strange.
I've got such situation with ASUS ROG notebook - I failed to acquire fn+arrows code in any way, and the only solution was to use a special homemade driver, which connected to ASUS keyboard driver and was possible to capture fn+arrows combination before it processed by ASUS ATK driver. That is why I think that the same thing happens with HP.
For example: fn+F5 also seems to not return a scancode. But in fact it must return something, because keyboard driver (or BIOS?) can recognize this combination, so some scancode must be returned by hardware.
Maybe driver captures it and does not passes this scancode to next layers - I don't know, but probably exactly this happens. If keyboard driver (or maybe even BIOS) works this way - maybe there is possibility to override it?
Like a self-made utility for ASUS, which I mentioned before.

Just found "HP System Event Utility":
"This package contains the HP System Event Utility, which enables special function keys on supported notebook models to be programmed. For example, HP System Event Utility enables users to press the Fn+ESC keys to view system information. This package is provided for supported models running a supported operating system."
Will try, maybe will catch FN+arrows scancode)
