Sorry, but Google Play is not automatically available on all Chromebooks.
To see if it is on yours, do the following steps:
- Turn on and unlock your Chromebook (main account).
- Click on your image, in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- A few options will pop up; select “Settings”.
- Under “Android Apps” there will be an option that reads: “Enable Android Apps to run on your Chromebook”.
If that option is not there, it is not available on your model Chromebook.

Thanks for that... I tried that but all I could find in the Settings was a section relating to Google Play Store which had the option saying "Turn On" but it was greyed out... there was also a little icon which, when the mouse, hovered over it, said "This setting is enforced by your administrator"
I thought I was the administrator ! So any way I can turn it on ? Why does Google Play Store only work on some Chromebooks ? If the Google Play Store app isn't available how does one get new apps ?
Thanks

Sorry, don't use Chromebooks at all -- don't believe in everything in the "cloud" as a matter of default.
You might do better on this checking with Google to see what they recommend.
