HP Elitebook 850 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The HP Support Assistant is not able to show me the option to install driver updates on our G6 laptops. It works fine on our G5 laptops and looks to be a different version.

This is what we see in HPSA on our G5 laptops.

This is what HPSA shows on our G6 laptops

Clicking check for updates on the G6 shows a pop-up that says it is checking for new messages but nothing comes of that.

How do we use HPSA to get driver updates on our G6 laptops?

Yes this is a duplicate post asking the same question so that an expert or someone from HP can take notice and hopefully fix this issue in their software.

I'm not looking for advice on not using HPSA.

I'm not looking for advice on HPIA as I am not familiar with it.

I am merely pointing out that the software works on G5 Elitebooks, it is different on G6 Elitebooks and it does not work on G6 Elitebooks. If you have any relevant advice on HPSA, please send it forth.

Thank you.

I've got 2 HP machines under HPSA , as you can see, my machine (the one I'm typing on it now) has 4 updates.You can add more registered HP devices to HPSA. In my case : 2 HP devices.

Regards.

@Banhien,

Looks like you're on the old version of HPSA. That's the version that works.

Have you tried the new version? Show me how I can get updates in the new version.

Not sure how adding more registered HP devices to the old version of HPSA helps me get updates in the new version.

@Banhien,

I think I see what you were trying to tell me.

On my G5, I have a G6 laptop added to "My Devices" in HPSA. It shows that there are updates available for the G6. The question is still: How do I download and install the available updates? It says "I must sign-in to that device to install updates". When signed in to that device there is no option for updates.

Hello

I always sugget for this commercial notebook, to use HP Image Assistant, instead of Support Assistant.

try HP Image Assistant , you don't need to unistall HP Support Assistant , then you can chose what is the best for you.

HP Image Assistant doesn't install. i's a portable application.

bye
