HP ZBook FireFly G9

How do I disable Smart Charge on a HP ZBook FireFly G9. The battery won't charge more then 80% and with the rather poor battery life on the Notebook I need all the battery life I can get.

I think, that I might have solved the problem. As Valsimot suggested I needed to disable the Power Management settings in BIOS, but I also had to reset the battery by turning the computer off, unplug the powercord and holding down the power button for more then 15 seconds. Now the computer charges correctly again.

Press F10 to enter BIOS after power ON, in BIOS under Advanced settings, you can find Power management.

Hi Valsimot,

Thank you for your suggestion. I have already unchecked all the options under power management in BIOS, and the computer is still acting up. The only options under power management are:

- Runtime Power Management (unchecked)

- Extended Idle Power States (unchecked)

- Power Control (unchecked)

There is also.

Battery Health Manager, which is set to "Let HP manage my battery charging". The other option here is "Max battery health", which will limit the battery capacity to 80%...
