Hi @Cablecar,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To get your HP printer back on the taskbar in Windows, follow these steps.
Check the Printer Status:
- Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network.
Open Settings:
- Click on the Start menu and select Settings (the gear icon).
Devices:
- Go to Devices and then click on Printers & scanners.
Select Your Printer:
- Find your HP printer in the list. If it's not there, click Add a printer or scanner and follow the prompts to add it.
Pin to Taskbar:
- Once your printer is visible, you can create a shortcut for it on your taskbar:
- Open the Control Panel (search for it in the Start menu).
- Click on Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select Create shortcut.
- Drag the created shortcut to your desktop.
- Right-click the shortcut on your desktop and select Pin to taskbar.
Using HP Smart App:
- If you have the HP Smart app installed, you can also pin it to the taskbar. Open the app, and then right-click the app icon on the taskbar and select Pin to taskbar.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
