On my new HP I have several things at the taskbar that I had no idea what it is, or why I would ever need it.  I inadvertently clicked on one to see what it was (HP Orbit)....had to restart my laptop to get it to let me out, it wouldn't disappear with the x.  I also have no idea why I would ever want "dropbox"---haven't used anything like that in the 30 years I've had a computer & (at 70+) don't want it now.  Not totally convinced that I'm going to do well learning a laptop after having desktops this long.

Hey there! @imgja, Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand that you need to get rid of HP orbit program from your PC.

Please try the steps mentioned below to uninstall the program.

Use the following steps:
Open the Start menu on your computer.
Search for and open Control Panel.
Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a program.
Scroll to HP Orbit in the list of installed apps.
Right-click HP Orbit and select Uninstall.

Refer this document to know more about HP orbit.

Let me know if this works!

Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂

If you simply want the icon to disappear, but not uninstall the program, just right-click on the icon then choose "Unpin from Taskbar" (or similar wording).
