Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.

I understand that you would like to access the CPU settings in the BIOS of your HP ENVY 14-3009tu SPECTRE Notebook.

I would like to mention that HP does not recommend making any changes to the CPU settings. These changes are system managed.

To assist you better, I would like to know the following information:

  • Why would you like to access the CPU settings?
  • Are you facing any issues with the laptop? If yes then please mention in detail about the problem.

Please feel free to reply for further assistance. Cheers! 🙂

I would like to access my cpu settings as to overclock my laptop for gaming purposes as I used to have 200 fps and now have a maximum of 65 fps

Thank you for trying with the information.

We do not recommend overclocking the CPU as it can lead to other complications.

However, to improve the fps, I have a few suggestions:

  • Go to Start Menu > click on Settings.

  • Type performance > choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

  • In the new window, go to the Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance.

  • Click Apply and ok...this should do the trick.

If the issue persists, The best way to resolve the issue is to follow the suggestions of the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS. (by the end of this document, all the issues should be resolved)

Also, if the issue persists, then check if the fps is reduced with or without the charger connected to the laptop,

Hope this helps. Let me know. All the best! 🙂
