Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is a very silly question or not but..I recently bought a new hp laptop with windows 10 and so far I am not sure that I made the right decision. I cant seem to figure out what used to be very simple basics.
How do I highlight text? If I left click and drag I can see the text highlighting as I drag but as release the left click to stop highlighting, the blue highlighting disappears from the text again. Its so frustrating and makes my work on the laptop absolutely impossible. Am I doing something wrong? I know I can use the shift key and across arrows to highlight and also know that I can double click words or sentences to highlight them but this is very impractical for large areas of text or specific pieces of a large text. Any suggestions or fixes? Thanks Cathy

#Cathy1234: Unless you have used Windows 8x a lot, Win10 presents a very different look and feel from what you are used to seeing.
What you're asking critically depends on the particular application you are using when you are trying to highlight the text.
We need to know the name of that applications, and if it's something like Microsoft Word, what version.
Thanks

Hi - found the note about someone who l ike me can't highlight text. I want to be able to highlight text just as I would do anywhere else, but using my new HP pavilion and Word 10, it just will not copy text in emails particularly in AOL.com. You can maybe highlight one or two words, but you can't choose text easily as you would elsewhere. Thanks for a quick fix - this is essential
