How do I turn off the mouse pad on the detachable keyboard?

I've read a few forums where they mentioned double tapping the upper left corner, but that doesn't work.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

I grasp that you would like to disable the TouchPad on the keyboard.  You tried  double tapping the upper left corner but that did not work.

Here is a link to Using and Configuring the ClickPad. Please note the section on disabling the ClickPad.

Good Luck!

Hi @MikeHahn@letaylor96,

Thank you for your posts.

Here is a link to a Microsoft document to help you find your start menu.

Where is the Start menu?

With some models you can disable the touchpad by double tapping the  upper right corner of the touchpad itself.

Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 😎 which does have instruction on how to disable the touchpad,

Good Luck!

i just got this laptop and it came with windows 10.  i can't find a way to disable the trackpad/clickpad/touchpad - whatever you call it.  i have a wireless mouse attached and the trackpad keeps engaging and messing up all my typing.  I've tried searching myself but no blogs have the solution, this is for Windows 10.

I have exactly the same problem. Why is HP not providing a fix for this or otherwise refund the cost of the laptop as it is unusable with the keyboard as it is.

I grasp that you are not able to disable the touchpad when you have a Bluetooth keyboard running.

If you have tried all the steps in my previous post and you still are unable to change the setting please contact HP support for assistance.  They can remotely connect to your system to help locate and resolve difficulties.

Eureka. I have finally found out how to disable the touchpad. Cold day so was just spending some time fiddling with the laptop and suddenly noticed that it showed me as having two mice connected. One with a usb device and the other as a bluetooth device. You guessed it...the bluetooth device is infact the touchpad on the keyboard. Went into properties and selected disable. Finally I can use the keyboard without the cursor jumping all over the place. Hope it works for everyone else 🙂
