I have many duplicate pictures on my computer because I didn't delete the pictures from my camera before transfering more pictures. Does anyone know a simple way to delete the duplicates other than one by one.

Evans,
Quick thoughts on the subject...
How you get rid of the duplicates depends on where they are located and whether there is anything "different" about one copy compared against the other.
For example
If the duplicate photos are in different folders - easy, remove one of the folders
If the photos are in the same folder and have different names, then search for one "kind" of name.
Example
photo1.jpg was imported on 11/22/2013
photo1.jpg was again imported on 11/24/2013
Each of the photos must have something different about it.
- Usually the second file will be suffixed with some sort of name change - maybe "photo1_1.jpg"
If the name itself is different, then you can search the folder for _1.jpg
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the date on which the files were imported is different, you can search for files that were "modified" on that date
- Windows 8 is perfectly set up for this because you can search by date easily.
- If your "search" does not include the presets for searching by date, you can still "sort" the files by date and catch the most recent set of imported photos that way.
That might be enough for you to resolve your issue.
If not, upload a snip of the file list so we can see an example of the problem.
Use the tiny Tree along the top ribbon of your Post editor that is "Insert / Edit" image.
You can also describe the problem in a bit more detail.

Why don't you try Duplicate Files Deleter? It will do a thorough search of your hard disk and find out the two or more duplicate files of the same file which may be stored at different locations. It will give you a comprehensive list of all those files and you can decide for yourself what you want to do with them. It's easy to use. Hope it will help you.
