HP Pavilion 15-cc504la

2 Things, how do i calibrate my HP notebook battery?

So, i had to replace my HP Pavilion 15-cc504la battery and i got a HT03XL, from what i got HT03XL is the original one despite my notebook having a TF03XL 920046-541 when i bought it from an HP store years ago.

So as i would expect, i need to calibrate it, so how do i do that? i found one here in the spanish community but im not sure about it. Also, Do i need to charge the battery before use? Im told i need to CHARGE IT FOR 8 HOURS before using it. But its a llithium battery no? Im confused.

Second, i keep getting the error message. Font 'HP Simplified' cannot be found. Whenever i turn on my pc and whenever i start up HP Support Assistant and try to update it. Will unninstall HP support assistant and then reinstall it from https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/hp-support-assistant

Hi @Pablo069,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here's how you can calibrate your HP Notebook battery and address the HP Simplified font error.

Calibrating Your HP Notebook Battery

Calibrating your laptop battery can help ensure accurate reporting of battery charge levels. Here's how you can do it:

Charge the Battery:

  • Connect the charger to your laptop.
  • Allow the battery to charge until it reaches 100%.

Discharge the Battery:

  • After the battery is fully charged, leave the laptop plugged in for an additional two hours.
  • Unplug the charger and use the laptop normally, allowing the battery to discharge completely until the laptop shuts down automatically due to low battery.

Fully Charge the Battery Again:

  • Plug the charger back in and allow the battery to charge uninterrupted to 100% again.

Reset Power Settings:

  • Once fully charged, you can reset your power settings to your preferred mode.

You can follow these steps to calibrate the battery:

  1. Charge your battery to 100% and let it continue charging for 2 hours.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and let your notebook discharge completely and then turn off automatically.
  3. Once the notebook is turned off, connect the power adapter and charge it to 100% again without interruption.

Addressing the HP Simplified Font Error

The "Font 'HP Simplified' cannot be found" error usually relates to missing fonts required by HP Support Assistant or other HP software. To resolve this:

Uninstall HP Support Assistant:

  • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.
  • Find HP Support Assistant in the list, select it, and click Uninstall.

Reinstall HP Support Assistant:

  • Download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the HP Support Assistant page.
  • Install it and check if the error persists.

Install the HP Simplified Font:

  • You can try installing the HP Simplified font manually if you can find the font file online.
  • Once downloaded, right-click the font file and select Install.

Additional Steps:

If the error persists after reinstalling HP Support Assistant, you may want to check for and delete any leftover files from the previous installation. You can do this by navigating to the installation directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework) and deleting any remaining files before reinstalling.

By following these steps, you should be able to calibrate your battery and resolve the font error with HP Support Assistant.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
