HP Notebook 15-da1013ny

I have both an HDD and an SSD configured in RAID mode. I want to switch from RAID to AHCI, but there is no option in the BIOS to change it. My storage controller driver is "Intel(R) Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller."

How can I safely change to AHCI mode without losing my data? Any help would be appreciated!

What you want to do is not possible.

The BIOS is locked at the factory and that is the default setting because those notebooks supported Intel Optane memory which needs a RAID configuration to accelerate the 2.5" drive.

Raid performs just as well as AHCI for a SATA drive, and if you are using a NVMe SSD, those use a different storage controller anyway.

Both my SSD and HDD support the AHCI controller. However, running them in RAID mode can reduce performance, especially for the SSD, since the TRIM command is not supported when the RAID controller is enabled.
