can you guys help me downgrade the bios.
i dont remember my old bios version. i guess it was f54. i saw there is an update and updated to f56 (for no reason really). since then everytime i start the computer it does not start. i need to hold the power button for few seconds, turn it off and then it turns back on. weird. it also freezes when i wake it up from sleep. again i need to hold the power button turn it off and then turn back the system.
my present bios is f56 and i tried the rollback option it rolled back to f56 only. i download f54 and it say its not compatible.
iam using HP ENVY 15-k005tx Notebook PC

Hi cheryl, can you help me downgrade my bios.
i assume i had f54 intalled and updated to f56 (just for the sake of updating it). since then everytime i turn on my pc, it boots and then goes black screen, does not even go to windows login. I then hold the power button, shut the notebook and then turn it back on and this time (2nd time) it boots. so everytime i need to follow this process.its irritating and started since i updated the bios.
alternatively if on 1st boot i press f10 and go to bios and then exit, it boots.
even when it wakes from sleep, it goes to a black screen and i need to turn it off and then turn it back on. my notebook is HP ENVY 15-k005tx Notebook PC.

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see from your post you need assistance in restoring the Bios. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook:
Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:
-
If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.
If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.
-
With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
-
With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
-
Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.
Let's rollback the Bios to the previous version, for more assistance, please follow this link: HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS
Let me know if those steps worked for you. If they did, that’s awesome! Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck!
