Hi @JHuff2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Download Bliss OS:
- Visit the official Bliss OS website and download the latest stable version.
Create a Bootable USB Drive:
- Use software like Rufus (available at rufus.ie) to create a bootable USB drive.
- Insert a USB drive into your laptop, open Rufus, select the Bliss OS ISO file you downloaded, and create a bootable drive.
Partition Your Hard Disk:
- Before installation, you’ll need to create a separate partition on your hard drive for Bliss OS.
- Search for "Disk Management" in Windows, open it, and shrink the volume of an existing partition to create unallocated space for Bliss OS.
Boot from the USB Drive:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10, F12, Esc, or Del during startup).
- Change the boot order to prioritize USB boot and restart your laptop again.
Install Bliss OS:
- Once booted from the USB drive, follow the on-screen instructions to install Bliss OS.
- When asked, be sure to install Bliss OS on the new partition you created earlier.
Set Up Dual Boot:
- After installation, you may need to set up the bootloader to manage both Windows and Bliss OS.
- Tools like ‘GRUB’ can be used to configure the boot menu.
Reboot and Configure:
- Reboot your laptop and you should see a boot menu allowing you to choose between Windows 11 and Bliss OS.
- Log in to both systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
I hope this helps.

Hi @JHuff2,
Thanks for getting back!
GRUB (GRand Unified Bootloader) is essential for managing the boot menu. Here’s how to install and configure it safely:
If You Installed Bliss OS in UEFI Mode:
Bliss OS should automatically detect Windows and install GRUB during setup.
But if it didn’t:
Boot into Bliss OS using the USB stick (if it's not booting yet).
Once inside, open the Terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T).
Run the following commands:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install grub-efi
sudo grub-install
sudo update-grub
Reboot. You should now see both Windows 11 and Bliss OS in the boot menu.
If You Need to Manually Install GRUB from Another Linux OS:
Boot into any Linux live distro (like Ubuntu from USB).
Open Terminal and run:
sudo mount /dev/sdXn /mnt # Replace with your Bliss OS partition
sudo grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=GRUB --recheck
sudo update-grub
Reboot your PC.
Since Bliss OS is Android-based, some hardware drivers (like touchpad, Wi-Fi, brightness control) may not work perfectly.
