Envy 17.3 cw-000
Microsoft Windows 11

I am waiting for my new HP Envy 17.3” cw-000 laptop with:

- i7 13700H processor

- Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU

- 32GB Ram

I would like to give the maximum amount of RAM to the GPU, which I believe should be 8 or 16GB according to Intel specs (50% total system memory).

How will I be able to  do this? Via the BIOS?

Any Envy 17 owners out there can find out how this could be done?

Integrated video (iGPU) does not have room for keeping VRAM, it relies on System. System will work this out and allocate/assign spare/available system RAM to VRAM automatically when required up to max limit. System will also take VRAM back when required (the number is dynamic, not fix). During the good old days, we could do this from BIOS but now OS is smarter.

The following document shows Max shared RAM for Intel iGPU versions (I can't find a similar list from AMD).

Around 2021 people posted Youtube on internet saying they can change using Regedit. Many people try but the results are unpredictable.

@BanHien thank you for the insight and link.

So, it appears that if I have 64GB of total system RAM, the Iris Xe will be able to utilize up to 32GB of that RAM for rendering - correct?

I did find some tutorials regarding adding the GMM registry entry. Is that what you are referring to? Here's a post about it.
