Hi all , does anyone know how to change the raid to ahci in the bios? I have tried but when I get into the bios I get a message saying that node drive selected or something under this line.
when I check my controller in device management I see the Intel controller is set as sata pcie rst . My ssd is a Samsung 970 evo.
I can see the nvme controller for it but I think because the above Intel controller is set as it is my drive do not perform fully.
Thanks

Hi:
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the drive controller setting and your NVMe SSD is running off the NVMe storage controller, which is not AHCI, and does not use the SATA controller.
If you have a 2.5" drive in the PC, that is what uses the SATA controller.

You're very welcome.
What is the maximum read/write speed you are getting out of the 970?
Usually there isn't anything you can do about making it faster.
If it is only half of what it is supposed to be, it is very likely the M.2 slot only has two usable PCIe lanes and not four.
There is a Samsung NVMe storage controller driver you can install...next to the last item on the webpage.
The installation instructions are the last item.

Well it is very random, once i will get 2800, 1700, 3200, i never get the same benchmark, regardless of the figure i got so far i never got the 3500 sold on the box.
What do you mean by the M2 only have 2 usable pcie lanes? Where or how can i check that?

If you are getting 3200 MBPS then your notebook's M.2 slot is using all 4 PCIe lanes.
If it was only using two lanes, your drive would never go past 1,700 MBPS read/write.
The 3500 is the max the drive can work at.
I have a Crucial P5 NVMe SSD in my Dell desktop PC and it never got the max advertised speed, and like yours I got different speeds--though never as low as 1,700 read. Usually between 2800 - 3200.
