Hello everyone here. Ich habe eine frage. I bought my laptop in a country different off Deutschland. So my bios has a serial number that belongs to another country, or region. The same thing is with my laptop product number and apparently with the id. I'd be pleased to change all those numbers in the bios to their German origin and make my laptop a bit more germane for me, but i don't know how to do it. I think hp should have got some sort of firmware or software for this purpose. Danke schön. Echte

Edited: I've prescinded from mentioning that i posted a similar question a few days ago and after a while i was proposed a solution on my issue. The solution was to bring my laptop to a local hp service center for tattooing my motherboard. But i described my problem in a slightly different way. Before i set out i called in and told them of my issue. They said they can't do this kind of thing because it's some sort of infringement of safety regulations and they aren't outlaws ...... they only could help if i brought to them a motherboard without any product number, id etcetera. Now i've all but lost my hope that the issue can be dealt with. I heard of some DMI software that people use for a similar purpose, but i fail to find it on the Internet and methinks every hp laptop series should have their own DMI. For example if i have a hp omen then i need DMI for omen series. So i'm a whit stuck here. I appreciate any help. Regards Echte

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to change the region in BIOS.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Why do you want to change the region?
There is no option in the BIOS to change the region however, you can do so from the Windows operating system.
Here is how it is done.
- Open Start.
- Click on Time & language.
- Click on Region & language.
- Under Country or region, select the country you want to use from the drop-down menu.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers!

Hi there. Apparently i have been misunderstood here. The product number and the serial number comprise the information of where a laptop was bought and which country it was made for. As i said i didn't buy it in Germany and i want to change that product information in the bios. I need German product and serial numbers. Or probably i will need also to change some other numbers to do it, for example ct number, though i have no idea what the number means. Simply i would like to change all that identity information in my bios so that the laptop bios could look as if it was made for use in Germany. I tried to change it with BCU but the serial and sku numbers are locked. I only managed to change my ID with the program. How could those numbers be unlocked and could someone here provide me valid German serial and sku numbers i could use instead ?

But it is my laptop and I'm its master. I don't understand why it can't be done in this way. For example i live in another country and i would be well off if the identity information corresponded with the country where i live now. My laptop should feel itself free at any time in every place and it shouldn't be tethered to some country. It is not fair. It is my decision. I'm its owner and only i could limit its freedom boundaries. I think it is a bit of your service to succor me with this persisting thing. I'm your cusomer. I shouldn't be left without help here. I hope you understand it. Regards Echte
