HP prod# 22C29UAR#ABA - Touchpad has NO functionality issues, I simply have fat hands/palms while typing constantly sending the mouse pointer god-knows-where so need to turn the bleeping thing off.

Windows Update is up to date, HP's diagnostics and their software updates are happy.

Many help pages show a special touchpad tab to disable touchpad while mouse is detected, but this system does not have this tab.  How might I disable (preferably temporarily) this touchpad?

Many - many thanks!

I appreciate the attempt to help although solution(s) offered I'd previously read on-line and tried.

Before and after successfully completing all software and driver updates - no reference to Synaptics was found.

Not in Mouse Properties, not in Touchpad tab, and not in Control Panel.

Tried a Windows Start Button search for "Synaptics" to find a "Synaptics Pointing Device" GUI where disabling the touchpad was possible.

This issue is now resolved.

Thanks!
