You can not disable a function key entirely. The key functions are programmed into the firmware of the BIOS so those keys work when you first boot the laptop and are not yet booted into Windows. Once in Windows, you could use a third-party app to try to assign the Function Key 8 function to something else, but you would have to experiment to see if that would work.
