I am looking for something to arrest battery charging before100% (for example at 80% or 60%), therefore the system gives message: "80% plugged in, not in charge". I know that software which have this function (battery life extension) can be found in Dell, ASUS, Sony PCs. Obviously, installing Battery Health Charging from Asus, or the one from Dell, on HP notebook can't be the solution (maybe for drivers or hardware incompatibility). It is annoyng to detach battery manually when reachs 80%. Thank you in advance

Interesting idea.   I have never used it.

Thje decision whether install anything that is intended for other manufacturers is up to you.

Best to at least create a Restore Point before installing any software that can change Windows.

Restore Point - Create and (later) use:

  • (How to) Create Restore Point

Stop all programs:  Browsers, games, Applications, etc.

Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection

Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point

Good Reference:

Delete Old Windows 10 System Restore Points to Free Up Disk Space

To use System Restore

Stop all programs:  Browsers, games, Applications, etc.

Control Panel > icon view > System > System Protection > System Restore >

Check list for available, relevant Restore Points >

If desired, Check Show more restore points >

Highlight / Select Restore Point >

Click Scan for affected programs >

Next > Finish

Will a Restore Point protect you from software intended for a different brand?  Unknown.

Commentary

In general, if you leave the AC power connected when you do not need to use the battery, the need for "charge cycles" is reduced.  Reducing the number of times the battery must be charged might provide longer battery life.
